5 incredible small shops that are perfect for your next theme park visit and beyond!
Happy Black History Month! We are celebrating by continuing to lift up Black voices within the theme park community. We are highlighting 10 small shops that are Black-owned. This will be a two-part series, so let’s take a look at these gorgeous shops and see how you can wear their items in the parks and at home!
Theme Parks and Melanin
Designs by Rashida has created a beautiful line called Theme Parks and Melanin. As a Disney Travel Agent, Rashida knows the parks well. But, she had a hard time finding items that were simple and represented who she is. So she took matters into her own hands and started creating these beautiful designs. We LOVE the new Studios design, because as Rashida says, you can wear this in both Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios!
You can find all of her creations here and her Instagram accounts here: @shidajayy @themeparksandmelanin
Lola & Me Boutique
Lola and Me is a shop that is owned by creator and Howard University grad, Brann. One of the unique parts of her shop is that she makes ears that are designed around Historically Black Colleges. Her designs also include gorgeous Kente ears, Ankara-inspired ears, and a stunning Chocolate Minnie Purse! We also love the blue Tiana-inspired ears because they are hard to find!

Dorian Elise
Creator Victoria Wade turned us on to this insanely gorgeous line from Dorian Elise. Created by Andrea who is a Disney creator and also finishing her PHD, this collection is for “girls who drug their parents through Limited Too and the girls who never saw themselves represented in the brands they loved most”. We are obsessed with this collection, and any of these items would be perfect for Sweethearts’ Nite at Disneyland!

Magic by Bri
How does one fall in love with earrings when their ears aren’t pierced? Well, you come across Magic by Bri’s shop! Bri created the most beautiful earrings that reference Disney and pop culture. We love that you can buy her earrings individually so you can get creative with your style by mixing and matching. Her viral Kermit is my Boyfriend earrings are a personal favorite, so much so that she accommodated me when I asked her to make me a pin so I could wear it!

Park Candy
We fell in love with Park Candy after we purchased their Bubble Gum and Purple Wall purses. Not only is the quality high, but they also each came with dust bags for protection while traveling! This shop is owned by husband and wife duo, Steve and Carise, who create some truly beautiful shirts, home goods and accessories for any theme park lover. On top of that, they are a charitable shop that has already donated over $31,000 to organizations such as the Trevor Project and CHOC Children's Hospital. What else could you possibly want from a shop?
