5 Magical Black-Owned Small Businesses That Are Perfect for Your Next Disney Vacation

Updated: Feb 16

In the past, we have honored Black History Month by highlighting Black-Owned Businesses that are either Disney-inspired or have items that can easily fit within your theme park vacation. However, this month feels very different. Anytime we’ve made a post or blog about highlighting shops that are Black or LGBTQ+ owned, we’ve made it clear that these are shops you can support year-round, not just during one month a year. Now more than ever, that message still stands.

Graphic reading “5 Black-owned businesses that are perfect for your next Disney vacation” featuring logos of Disney small shops offering apparel, accessories, pins, stationery, and athleisure.

We are so excited to share these shops with you and hope you find a new favorite item for your trip! We’ve highlighted 5 items from each shop that we think you will love for your Disney vacation, but please take the time to explore their entire website as you never know what you might find.

Even if you cannot financially support these shops at this time, we’ve listed their social media sites so you can give them a follow. Liking, sharing, and commenting on posts is a free way to support any small shop!

If you are looking to add a little sparkle, color, and joy to your life, look no further than The Artsy Girl Shop. Created in 2020, Sharmequa was seeking an outlet for her creative side, and boy, are we lucky she followed her heart.

This shop is filled with beautiful, bright accessories and stationery. You can clearly see the love and joy jump out from her drawings onto her collections like the Little Artsy Girl and her gorgeous totes. Sharmequa’s designs are perfect for anyone and any occasion, but we’ve put together a few items that would create a splash on your Disney vacation.

In 2015, founder Sharea was inspired by her daughter to create comfortable, handmade clothes for kiddos. Wild Rich Kids has become a highly sought-after shop, as Sharea and her team create beautiful designs and limited drops.

Throughout the years, they’ve expanded their inventory and now offer a variety of items that are staples for your theme park or resort days, including fanny packs, swimsuits, and keychains. They do have some ready-to-ship items, but we would recommend signing up for their newsletter or Facebook group so you don’t miss out on their exclusive drops!

The Chocolate Minnie  (From, Mini Me)

Collecting pins is an old Disney tradition, and if you are wanting to add to your pin boards or favorite pin bag, you need to check out The Chocolate Minnie. Tymiescia has designed some absolutely stunning pins that range from princesses to wizards. And if pins aren’t your thing, don’t worry, she also has incredible patches, art, keychains, earrings, and cups!

We thankfully stumbled upon Copper and Brass Paper Goods last year on Threads. Inspired by her mom, Ariel Young wanted to create something that would be fun and also inspired family traditions. She noticed that paper goods and stationary lacked diversity and set out to design products where Black people could be seen and represented.

In 2018, Ariel launched Copper and Brass Paper Goods starting with wrapping paper and gift tags, but now offers exquisite stationery, binders, and clipboards that would be excellent for Disney travel agents. The bow pens bring that Minnie and Daisy energy, and the notepads are perfect for making those packing lists before your trip!

If you are a runDisney fan, or a runner in general, make sure to check out OTG Athleisure. Genise Scott wanted to create a luxury athletic brand where women could feel empowered and motivated to accomplish their fitness goals and look good while doing it, and we think she crushed it.

Founder of OTG Athleisure wearing athletic set, a Black-owned brand offering comfortable outfits ideal for long Disney park days and runDisney races.

The brightly colored matching sets are going to make you stand out while crossing the finish line on your big day. Even if a runDisney race isn’t in your future, OTG offers leggings, tanks, and skorts that will make your day at the parks comfortable and stylish.

Athleisure pieces from OTG including leggings, sports bra, skirt, biker shorts, and belt bag perfect for comfortable Disney park outfits and travel days.

We hope you have found a new favorite shop. If you don’t have an upcoming trip, save these accounts and sites for birthdays, anniversaries, or other holidays. Black-owned businesses need our support year-round!

And remember, theme park fashion doesn't have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile!
