Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe has taken immersive theming to a whole new level. One of the most breathtaking and beautifully designed portals in this new theme park is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The creative team has already wowed us with the stunning details of Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure and the atmosphere of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. But this time, they’ve truly outdone themselves.
The Ministry of Magic portal is absolutely gorgeous. Its grand scale is full of intricate details that make you feel like you’ve stepped straight into the Wizarding World.

What makes this area especially fascinating is how they managed to merge two completely different eras: the 1920s Paris setting from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the 1990s Ministry of Magic from Harry Potter.
I wasn’t sure how they were going to pull off such a drastic blend of time periods, but they sure delivered. If you want to see our day in the Ministry, you can check out our vlog!
And if you’re a fan of the Harry Potter franchise, you’ll definitely want your outfit to match this magical atmosphere. Dressing for this portal can be a bit tricky because of the dual theming—but don’t worry, we’ve put together five outfit ideas that perfectly blend the elegance of 1920s Paris with the classic wizarding look of the 1990s Ministry. If you need any extra help with your outfits, check out our customized outfit planning services!
Niffler Outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Epic Universe
One of my favorite parts about the theming of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe is that the magical creatures are finally getting their moment to shine. As you wander through this beautifully designed portal, you’ll notice so many animal friends hidden within the windows and shops. My personal favorite creature from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the mischievous Niffler.

This Fantastic Beasts-inspired outfit was created with the Niffler’s love of shiny treasures in mind. We added pearls, gold accents, and a few coins to capture their mischievous ways, but you can customize your look with any accessories that shimmer or gleam. If you want to take it a step further, there are some adorable Niffler-themed items available over in Les Galeries Mirifiques within this portal. The best part about this look is that you can repurpose the jumper for a Gryffindor outfit!
Hogwarts-Themed Outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Epic Universe
In true Universal Creative Team magic, they found a way to bring together two time periods within this portal. Yes, it’s themed to 1920s Paris, but you’ll still find plenty of nods to Hogwarts throughout the area. One of my favorite details is spotting the Wizarding students who roam the streets here. You’ll see students representing Hogwarts as well as other Wizarding schools, which makes the entire experience feel even more alive.

If you lean more toward the Hogwarts side of the fandom, there are still so many fun ways to incorporate your favorite house into your outfit while tying in the “beast” elements of this portal. We created this Hogwarts-inspired look featuring the school’s mascots for a casual yet magical outfit that’s perfect for your park day. Hufflepuff is our chosen house, but you can, of course, dress according to whichever house the Sorting Hat has chosen for you!
Beauxbatons Student Outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Epic Universe
Speaking of Wizarding students and schools, we can’t forget the elegant Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. After all, you’re in France, so it only makes sense to represent the local school of magic with your outfit!

This look is a bit of a Harry Potter bound, inspired by the graceful Beauxbatons uniform. The light, flowy dress is perfect for keeping cool on a warm Florida day while still looking effortlessly chic. You can even take the outfit to the next level by adding a fascinator instead of a bow or headband for that extra touch of Parisian charm. This dress and most of the accessories can easily be reused to create a beautiful Cinderella-inspired outfit if your vacation also includes a trip to Disney!
Newt Scamander Outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Epic Universe
The hero of this portal is none other than the one and only Newt Scamander. His love of magical creatures, quiet bravery, and endearing awkwardness make him such a lovable character. You’ll spot nods to Newt throughout this Wizarding World portal, from clever window displays to live entertainment moments that celebrate his story.

We already have a Newt Scamander bound outfit featured in our original Epic Universe blog post, but this version has been updated to be more theme park and weather-friendly. It’s a modern take on his classic look—but that’s the beauty of it! We love finding ways to rewear the pieces we buy for theme park vacations in our everyday wardrobes.
Dolores Umbridge Outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Epic Universe
Every story needs a villain, and Dolores Umbridge may just be the worst one in this portal, if not the entire fandom. She makes a striking appearance in the attraction Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. This ride typically has some of the longest wait times in the park, rarely dropping below two hours. It’s an unbelievable attraction, but if you don’t feel like waiting, you can still use Floo Powder and step right into the Ministry of Magic yourself.

Honestly, Umbridge’s signature look is surprisingly fun to recreate if you love pink, feminine styles. The teacup earrings and cat-inspired accessories pull everything together, creating the perfect “sweet, but sinister” outfit for one of the wizarding world’s most despised characters. And if you decide to channel your inner Umbridge, don’t worry, we won’t judge! Villains are always a hit at any theme park.

We hope we’ve brought you some inspiration for your magical day at Epic Universe. No matter what you decide to wear, we know you will have the best day ever!
