Disney’s Animal Kingdom has become one of our favorite theme parks. Yes, we absolutely love the animals here, but what really keeps us coming back is the food, culture, and entertainment. What was once deemed a half day park has now become one that we devote an entire day to and still don’t get to see everything we want.

Ashlie wearing a tan hat with black Mickey ears and a leopard print dress stands in front of the Tree of Life waterfall at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A chic safari-inspired outfit perfect for exploring Walt Disney World’s most adventurous park.

But of course, as magical outfit planners, we also love styling outfits for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We’ve been so fortunate over the years to have planned many outfits for clients headed to this theme park. Of course we love animal prints and safari chic looks, but there are so many other themes to wear here as well! So, we’ve put together 5 outfits based on other themes around Animal Kingdom. Zootopia Themed Outfit for Animal Kingdom

On November 7th, Zootopia Better Together will officially open at Magic Kingdom. We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate then with sprinkles, donuts, and Officer Clawhauser. The ears are from BaubleBar, but we will link a similar option below!

Sweet and subtle Animal Kingdom outfit inspired by Zootopia’s donut motif featuring a pink cardigan, beige wrap skirt, donut Minnie ears, and plush dessert-shaped bag—fun Disneybound style that blends cozy neutral fashion with park-day comfort.

Safari Themed Outfit for Animal Kingdom

You don’t need animal print to channel the safari vibes. This chic Animal Kingdom outfit brings all the adventure-ready elements you love—without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight olive dress, neutral sandals, and gold accessories keep you cool and effortlessly elegant for a day exploring the wildest park at Walt Disney World.

Stylish Animal Kingdom safari outfit featuring an olive green button-down dress, tan sandals, woven hat, gold elephant earrings, and a brown mini backpack—perfect for a Disney World park day with earthy tones and subtle adventure style from Once Upon a Wardrobe.

Dinosaur Themed Outfit for Animal Kingdom

Well Dinoland U.S.A will officially be extinct soon, but there is still some time to celebrate parts of this park. Dinosaur the ride will be open until 2026 and you can still meet Daisy, Chip, and Dale in their adorable outfits!

Lauren and Ashlie pose with Daisy Duck at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, surrounded by greenery and festive decor. One wears a leopard print safari dress with Mickey ears, and the other wears a red and black dress with character prints.

Daisy's meet and greet is filled with bright colors, which is why we chose to style this outfit bright and bold while giving credit to one of the best/worst rides at Animal Kingdom, DINOSAUR. This dark ride is so much fun and we love all the nostalgia that it brings with it. However, if you are over the age of 30, it might also give you a headache. 😆

Bright and fun Dinosaur-themed Animal Kingdom outfit featuring a “Not Our Dino” tie-dye tee, denim shorts, pink Minnie ears, and a purple Loungefly backpack—ideal for exploring DinoLand U.S.A. with a touch of 90s style and Disneybound energy.

A Bug's Life Outfit for Animal Kingdom

Even though we have official confirmation that the attraction It’s Tough to be a Bug will be rethemed to Zootopia, we still think that this movie and theme work perfectly at Animal Kingdom. And let’s be honest, Heimlich is the most beautiful butterfly and deserves more representation! We love this easy casual look, and the bracelet from ColieAndCo is just too cute!

A Bug’s Life inspired Animal Kingdom outfit with a red skater dress, butterfly accessories, colorful “beautiful butterfly” bracelets, a Heimlich Loungefly backpack, and white sneakers—playful and comfortable Disneybound look for Pixar fans visiting Animal Kingdom.

Up Outfit for Animal Kingdom

One of the best character interactions at Animal Kingdom is seeing Kevin! Kevin will often roam around the front of the park, greeting guests. You can also meet Russell and Dug on Discovery Island at the Wilderness Explorers Club House! All of these wonderful character meets make Up a perfect outfit theme for Animal Kingdom.

Kevin, the colorful bird from Disney Pixar’s Up, walks through Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This vibrant photo captures the playful atmosphere of the park’s Discovery Island area, perfect for adventure lovers and photo ops.

We’ve had a lot of fun planning outfits based around Wilderness Explorers and the balloon house! Kevin is one of our favorite characters to style because of his bright colors. He's often spotted greeting guests near the front of Animal Kingdom, but we've also seen him wondering around Asia and Dinoland U.S.A. This shirt is from Bounding In Style which offers a lot of different themed Disney shirts.

Colorful Disney Up-inspired Animal Kingdom outfit with a “Wild & Free” Kevin shirt, yellow skirt, rainbow Minnie ears, blue backpack, and grape soda keychain—playful, adventure-ready Disneybound look for exploring Disney’s most vibrant park.

Lion King Outfit for Animal Kingdom

Disney dads helped make this theme pretty famous with the red Hakuna Matata shirt. And listen, you won’t get any judgment from us, as that was also worn during our first trip together back in 2018. 😆

Ashlie and her husband meet Timon from The Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They wear Hakuna Matata shirts and giraffe-themed Mickey ears for a coordinated Disneybound look inspired by the beloved movie characters.

But, we opted for a more subtle style with this look. We are in love with this custom jacket we found on Poshmark as it still ties in the movies iconic catchphrase, but in a more updated way. You could also add a button-down shirt to layer over this dress or tie it around your waist for the "winter" months where it's a little more cool at night.

Cozy Lion King inspired Animal Kingdom outfit with a tan t-shirt dress, “Hakuna Matata” denim jacket, Simba Loungefly backpack, gold jewelry, and white sneakers—perfect for a comfortable Disney World day inspired by Simba and the Pride Lands.

Pandora Outfit for Animal Kingdom

Admittedly, during our first trip to Animal Kingdom, I had little to no interest in visiting this land. I hadn’t seen the movie and didn’t know anything about the attractions. But, I will NEVER forget the first time riding Flight of Passage. You do not have to have any knowledge of the movies to appreciate this land. Joe Rohde is truly a mastermind and has created a space where you want to know more about this fictional environment.

The World of Avatar floating mountains at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, covered in lush vines and greenery. This stunning view showcases one of the most popular photo spots and attractions at Walt Disney World.

We styled this casual outfit for those of us who might know the pre-show by heart, however, there are plenty of ways to style and plan a theme around this world that don’t involve the attractions. A plain blue tank top would work as well and if you don't like ears, swap it out for a hat!

Avatar Pandora Animal Kingdom outfit featuring a blue “and, uh, fly” tee, black shorts, glowing iridescent fanny pack, bioluminescent-style Minnie ears, and white sneakers—an easy park-day look inspired by Flight of Passage and the World of Avatar.

There are so many other ideas we’ve styled as well. Head on over to our Instagram page, and let us know what else you’d like to see! We hope you have found some inspiration with these looks. And remember, theme park fashion doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile!
