Dining at Arendelle was one of my family’s favorite parts on our Disney Cruise. Ardenelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is one of the rotational dining experiences, and it is exclusive to the Disney Wish.

During this immersive meal, you will get to hear live music and see some of your favorite Frozen characters. We will break down the menu, entertainment, and what to expect for this delightful dinner and performance.
Arendelle Menu Overview: What Kind of Food is Served
Let’s start with the reason why you’re there, the food. Because this is an immersive meal, the menu is Norwegian-inspired with a variety of fish, seafood, and meats. If you are worried about a kiddo that might be a picky eater, Disney of course has you covered.
There are special Frozen themed items available for the evening, but you can still order your basic pizza, hot dog, and cheeseburger. We also loved that the kids’ menus resembled the Arendelle flag and had Frozen themed activities inside to complete before dinner arrived.
The adult menu also had Frozen-specific dishes, such as Blushing Oaken’s Chilled White and Green Asparagus and Sven’s Favorite Carrot Soup. As with every meal on a Disney Cruise, there is also an allergy-friendly menu available.
Some highlights for us were Elsa’s Royal Baked Scallops and the Rib Eye. Don’t forget that you can order as much as you want on a Disney Cruise, and it’s all included. That means if you’re having a hard time choosing between two appetizers, just order both!
Entertainment Experience During Dinner at Arendelle
What makes Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure so special is the live entertainment. If you’re worried about having to sit through another retelling of Frozen, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that this is an original story for the Wish.

It takes place after Frozen II and puts you front and center as a guest to celebrate Anna and Kristoff’s engagement. I love this idea so much because you aren’t just watching a show, you are an active participant in the story. From the minute you walk into this restaurant, you feel like Anna and Kristoff have personally invited you to this event.
It’s not a show that constantly runs once it begins. There are many different acts throughout your meal which allows plenty of time for ordering without distractions or talking to your family about their favorite parts of the day.

The performance features some of your favorite Frozen characters such as Oaken, Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa. We actually really loved the violinist who would perform in-between storyline breaks. There are also a couple of opportunities to be part of the show with audience participation.
The only downside to this experience is that where you sit can have an effect on what you see of the entertainment. Even though the stage is near the center of the restaurant, it’s still a large room, and if you’re near the back, it might be hard to see some key moments.

You may request a table closer to the stage, but this is NOT guaranteed. We just happened to strike gold and get prime seating without a request.
Character Interactions at Arendelle on the Disney Wish
Something important to note about your dining experiences on a Disney Cruise is that these are not guaranteed character interactions. The characters do roam the dining hall during the show’s breaks.

That means you might get a visit from Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff at your table, but it will be a very brief interaction. Elsa spent a minute or so at our table, talking with our kiddos, but Anna and Kristoff politely thanked us for attending their celebration and kept moving.
Unlike character dining at the Walt Disney World Resorts, the characters are not mandated to stop at your table and take a photo with you. Remember, you are supposed to be a guest at Anna and Kristoff’s engagement party, so asking for autographs here doesn’t fit with the storyline.

Another thing to consider is that the dining crew has two dinners to put on each night, so they are on a time restraint for cleaning out the first round and preparing for the second rotation. It would be impossible for each character to stop for photos and autographs at each table and have the next dining rotation start on time.
I know that this might be disappointing to your little Frozen fans, but while the interactions are short, they are still magical. My kids stated that they felt as if they were actual friends of Elsa, and the entire experience felt more natural and less staged, which ties into the immersive theming even more.

It’s also important to note that we have seen Olaf make an appearance in a very unique way during your meal, but he was not there for our dinner. We hope that you get to see him on your cruise!
Overall Thoughts on Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure
I really think Disney knocked it out of the park with Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. They’ve continued to incorporate this type of dining experience into their new fleet of ships with Coco on the Disney Treasure and Lion King on the Disney Destiny.

Even if you’re not a huge Frozen fan, I still wouldn’t skip this meal. The menu is fun and offers you an opportunity to try foods from far away places, and the cast is so talented that you won’t care if you’ve heard “Let it Go” 200 times.
We’d love to hear your thoughts once you visit Arenedelle. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave us a comment!
