It’s time to light the lights on my favorite characters, the Muppets.
I have loved the Muppets all my life. From Muppet Babies to The Muppet Show, I connected with these characters throughout different stages of my life. My absolute favorite part about the Muppets is the love and acceptance they have for each other. I remember watching old VHS tapes of The Muppet Show in high school with my best friend and just feeling so much joy from watching a show that celebrated creativity and acceptance. Every single character is deeply unique and loved for who they are, and I think we need more of that in this world.
We have been so lucky to create a few Muppet themed looks for our clients. So, if you are looking for a more customized outfit, you can book an outfit planning session with us, and we’ll create a unique look for you based on your favorite Muppet!
There are only a couple of spots in Disney that represent these beloved characters and one, is seasonal. Hollywood Studios holds the spot for best themed Muppet Area. Over in Grand Avenue, you can find Muppet Vision 3D, which is Jim Henson’s last directed film. There are so many fun photo opportunities, as this area is full of giant statues, bright paintings, and a very iconic water fountain. You can also find yourself a slice of rat pizza.
Epcot is the other theme park that has some small Muppet themed places. Over at the Regal Eagle, you can see that Sam the Eagle is making sure you have the most delicious BBQ. The other spot is seasonal, and not always guaranteed.
Over the past couple of years, Bunsen and Beaker have created some rather unique options for you for Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival. The Odyssey is transformed into the Muppet Brew-Wing Lab and is decorated inside with props and special videos from Bunsen and Beaker.
Using outfits to express my love for these characters has been one of my favorite parts of this job and being a part of the Disney community. While Animal has always had a special place in my heart, choosing a favorite character is simply impossible. So here are a few outfits inspired by the characters who I relate to for various reasons.
Miss Piggy Dress Look & Statue of Pigerty Outfit
She’s an icon, a legend, and she IS the moment. Miss Piggy is one of my favorite Muppet characters not only for her sense of style, but for her confidence. While some might say she’s a diva, I think she’s just a woman who knows what she wants and what she deserves. There’s nothing wrong with speaking your mind and knowing your worth!

Playing into her diva side is very fun, which was what we did with this look. Lauren and I wanted to incorporate purples and pinks, as those are the colors that come to our minds when we think of this queen. We are also obsessed with the halo crown, as it really gives a dramatic element to the look. Add some pearls and false eyelashes, and you’re all set to look just as fabulous as Miss Piggy herself.

At Hollywood Studios, you can find her at the center of Grand Avenue as Lady Liberty in the water fountain. 1953 Designs created an amazing shirt, so of course we wanted to design an entire outfit around it! Muppet merch in general is hard to find, but 1953 Designs is a fellow Muppet fan, so she always creates the cutest items!
Kermit Overalls & Dress Look
Perhaps the most famous Muppet is our favorite frog, Kermit. We wanted to style a casual, yet chic outfit for the our frog King. The rainbow ears represent my favorite Muppet song, Rainbow Connection. The simple star earrings tie in his love of directing and showbiz. If you’re headed to Florida in the summer, we would highly recommend swapping the jeans out for shorts! Bike shorts would be really cute with this look if you choose to buy the shirt oversized!

If you’re wanting a dressier look, going green might be the easiest option. We liked this dress as it added some texture to the look, but going with a more casual dress would also look great! Finding Muppet mini backpacks that aren’t over $100 isn’t easy (much like being green), so we got a little creative with this creative with this crossbody. My favorite part of this outfit is the banjo necklace. I love tying in character’s interests within the look!
Animal Skirt Look
My favorite Muppet of all. I really don’t have a great explanation as to why he’s my favorite. I think I am just naturally drawn to his chaotic personality. I love how he boldly expresses himself through music and his drums, but also has a soft, sweet side to him as well.

Even though we keep saying Muppet merchandise is hard to find, when it is released Animal is actually a character that will often get a lot of love. There have been couple of Animal themed purses released, but this is one of the few ones that are left. While red is his main color, I also love his hot pink accents within his fur. So we styled the cropped oversize tee in hot pink to make sure the red bag popped. The heart earrings reminded us of the symbol within his drum set for the Electric Mayhem. You can really go in all kind of directions with accessories, it’s really up to your comfort level!

I was lucky enough to wear this Animal outfit to D23! I wanted a sweater and found this gem on Amazon. It’s currently sold out, but I’ll add a similar option below! The texture is a little bit fluffy, which I liked as it reminded me of his adorable face. I also purchased the necklaces and headbands, but I already owned the bag, skirt, fishnets, boots and purse! My ears aren’t pierced, so the earrings weren’t a possibility, but my sweet friend, Paulomi, convinced me to put on false eyelashes, as Animal has those luscious lashes. I really liked how it came all together!
Janice 70's Outfit
While I think the Muppets do a phenomenal job of creating characters and stories about love and acceptance, they do however lack main female characters. Janice is FOR SURE an underrated character and until The Muppets Mayhem, didn’t get a lot of screen time. I am so happy that we got to see her story a little bit more. Her style has always been phenomenal, as it highlights styles from the 70’s. But at the time of writing this blog, there is virtually no Janice-specific merchandise, even on Etsy.

We tried to create this look based on what Janice might wear today. We picture Janice attending Coachella or Burning Man, just having the time of her life. Both the 70’s and 90’s have made a strong style comeback, and we aren’t mad about it. We originally styled this look with a crochet top and mini flower hair clips to create a look of love and peace, but the crochet top is now sold out. So we swapped it out with a groovy tank with colors that represent Janice. This look is perfect for the parks or even for the weekend. If you’re looking for these earrings, they are from the amazing FemmeDeBloom Jewelry shop who is a Muppet fan herself!
Gonzo Casual Outfit
At first glance, Gonzo may just seem like a little strange blue creature who loves chickens. But, he really is so much more. What I love most about Gonzo is his confidence. He’s completely comfortable in his own blue skin.
It’s what allows him to be a great stuntman, as well as a sharp dressed man. And if you look at past outfits from Muppet movies, he really has some dapper outfits. I strive to have his level of wisdom and courage.

However, for this look, I wanted something that was casual and fun. I just see Gonzo as a bucket hat kind of guy and wanted to incorporate that into this look. I was thinking about what Gonzo would wear to the parks, and I just pictured something quirky, but functional. You’ll also notice that I snuck in some chicken socks to make sure Camilla also got some love.
Rizzo Shorts & Skirt Outfit Options
The only other competition for the cutest rodent in all of Disney World is, of course, Rizzo the Rat. In Grand Ave, you can grab a slice of rat pizza, I mean, the city’s top rated pizza. Jim Henson had once envisioned robotic rats delivering your pies, and while that dream didn’t come to fruition, it’s still a fun place to grab some lunch.
That is where the inspiration came from for this look. There are a lot of fun photo opportunities located near this quick service, so wearing a Rizzo outfit would be really fun. We styled two different types of looks for this because my husband loves to wear Rizzo outfits too!
This mini backpack was really the perfect pepperoni on top of the pizza for this look. The hat comes from another small shop that we love, SouvenearWDW. We are not affiliated with this shop, we just really love Katie’s designs and have loved all of our purchases from her shop!

And just because you’re wearing a rat, doesn’t mean you can’t be twirly girly. By adding the skirt, bow, and my personal favorite, pizza earrings, you will be set to take the cutest photos in Grand Ave.
Even though there are just a couple of options for seeing the Muppets, I fully believe in wearing what makes you happy. So even though you can’t find the Muppets anymore at Magic Kingdom (RIP Great Moments in American History 😩) or Animal Kingdom, you can wear these looks anywhere.

We hope you are able to find some inspiration from these outfits. Don’t forget to tag us over on our Instagram page if you wear any of these looks! We would love to see how you interpret these with your style.
And remember, theme park fashion doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile.
