One of the most popular experiences that Disney offers is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Where else can the little one in your life get to live their fairytale dream of becoming a real life Disney princess, prince, or even a pirate?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is known for creating magic at the Disney Parks, but did you know that you can also book this on your Disney Cruise? This magical extra is available for anyone ages 3-12 . We’ve been so lucky to enjoy this on two different Disney cruise ships, so I thought I would share our past experiences.
How to Book Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Disney Cruise
We are going to get the worst part of the experience out of the way first. I would love to tell you that booking the Bibbidi Boddibi Boutique on a Disney Cruise is easier than booking it at a Disney resort, but sadly, this is not the case.

It might even be a bit tricker than a resort because Disney Cruise Line releases booking times based on your Castaway Cay status. Your Castaway Cay status is based on how many times you’ve sailed on a Disney Cruise line ship. Here are the current booking windows:
First-time Guest – 75 days prior to sail date
Silver – 90 days prior to sail date
Gold – 105 days prior to sail date
Platinum – 120 days prior to sail date
Pearl – 123 days prior to sail date
Your window opens at midnight, so be prepared to stay up late or set an alarm to secure a spot. You can book through your computer or mobile device - both will probably cause a headache at some point. For your mobile device, you will choose the "My Plans" tab, and on your computer, it’s under "Already Booked - My Disney Cruise - Book/Manage Cruise Activities".

Prepare to be flexible with your desired date and time. The Days at Sea typically sell out first, so it’s always good to have a backup plan. Evening spots are usually a bit easier, but you might have some luck with port days like Nassau.
If you are using a travel agent, you can ask them to assist and they might have more luck. But just remember, they do not make any money off of these activities, so if your travel agent is successful, maybe buy them a coffee or two.

If you are unable to secure a spot, do not panic. There is still hope. On our very first Disney Cruise, my daughter asked if she could get a princess makeover after our booking window passed. When we boarded the ship, we headed straight to the boutique and were able to secure a spot. It was an evening appointment and we did miss one of the shows, but if it’s something that’s important to your little one, you have to take what you can get.

Our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Makeover Experience
On the Disney Dream, we chose the Deluxe Carriage Package and brought our own dress for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, as my daughter really loved Princess Elena at the time. I would highly recommend doing this if you’re looking for a way to save a little money.

You can find very affordable dresses on Amazon or Little Adventures. We chose
the Castle Deluxe, and it was only 99 dollars. This was also the cruise where we booked the appointment after we boarded, so our time slot wasn’t ideal.

We were able to snag a spot on our Castaway Day in the evening, and my girl was so tired during her appointment. However, her Fairy Godmother was absolutely incredible and even left us a magical note on our cabin door, which my daughter STILL talks about.
My daughter’s experience was so wonderful despite being completely exhausted that she wanted to do it again on our Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder.

For our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Makeover on the Disney Wonder, we were able to secure a morning spot on our Day at Sea. This is ideal, as your little one is able to wear their outfit and makeover all day, which makes for fun photos and interactions.

On the Disney Wonder, the Boutique is located on Deck 10 and feels extra special, as even the staircase is filled with magic and pixie dust. The check-in process is very easy, but I wouldn’t arrive super early prior to your appointment. The boutiques are quaint to create a special atmosphere, so there really isn’t a lot of room for waiting.

Our Fairy Godmother greeted us and was so extremely sweet and accommodating. My daughter wanted the Captain Minnie Makeover, but wanted the Captain Mickey Outfit. When she went to try on her outfit in the cutest changing room on the seas, her pants were too short.
Our Fairy Godmother went above and beyond and swapped out her pants from another costume. She did inform me that this isn’t always possible, but they did happen to have an extra on hand, so it worked out. She also let my daughter choose the pirate pull string bag as opposed to the pink Minnie backpack since we already had that one!

From start to finish, the process was about 45 minutes long, and my daughter loved every single second.
Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Disney Cruise Worth it?
Because this is an additional cost on your Disney cruise, I often see people questioning if it’s “worth it”. There is really not a one-size-fits-all answer. It truly depends on each family and child’s interest and budget. For our family, it was worth it, and we tucked away extra money for this experience.

Even if you have an evening appointment, your little one can still wear the outfit and hair the next day. The Fairy Godmothers do such a great job that the hair will likely hold overnight, and you get to keep the makeup they use so you can just reapply.

One of the best parts about our experience is how the Cast Members and Characters would interact with my kiddo after the makeover, making her feel like a true princess and captain. My daughter also isn’t really into makeup and hair, so the fact that she loves going to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique speaks volumes about the quality of the experience.
I would love to hear about your Bibbidi Bobdidi Boutique experience! If you have any questions, please feel free to add them to the comments. We hope you have the most wonderful vacation!
