Our very first cruise was on the Disney Dream, so this ship will always have a special place in my heart. I remember planning outfits for this cruise and the joy I had boarding the ship! While it may not be Disney’s newest and shiniest fleet, I think this is the perfect size ship for newbies and still provides the highest quality of entertainment and theming.

Outfit planning for this cruise can be so much fun because it offers a lot of classic Disney characters and unique themed dining. We are sharing five outfits that coincide with the themes on board. Three of these outfits are looks that our stylist Tashy Renée wore on her first Disney Dream Cruise! If you love these ideas, but want some outfits catered to your styling preference, check out our customized outfit planning service!

Captain Minnie Outfit for a Disney Cruise

Since her debut in 2019, Captain Minnie has been making her appearance along Disney Cruise Line. She’s been an inspiration to many young girls, reminding them that not just the boys can be captains.

Captain Minnie–inspired Disney cruise outfit with a white pleated dress, red blazer, captain hat, nautical Mickey earrings, gold accessories, woven crossbody bag, and block heel sandals, styled for a Disney Dream or Disney Cruise Line sailing.

Tashy wearing a Captain Minnie–inspired Disney cruise outfit featuring a red blazer, white skirt, captain hat, Minnie ears, and white sneakers, posing in front of a Disney Cruise Line backdrop with classic Disney characters.

Tashy looked absolutely perfect when she wore this outfit on her cruise! This outfit is perfect for embarkation day, or meeting Captain Minnie on a day at sea. You can never go wrong when you’re twinning with Minnie Mouse!

Donald Duck Outfit for a Disney Cruise

When you think of a Disney cruise, you might immediately think of Mickey or Minnie. But Donald Duck actually plays a big part of the Disney Dream! Each Disney cruise ship features a statue of a Disney character in the atrium. On the Disney Dream, you can find Admiral Donald.

Donald Duck–inspired Disney cruise outfit featuring a graphic Donald Duck shirt, navy wide-leg pants, red belt bag, nautical earrings, anchor bracelet, white sneakers, and blue and red Minnie ears, perfect for casual cruise days.

A Donald Duck outfit on a Disney Cruise ship really makes sense as he is the #1 duck and loves all things nautical and sailing. The bracelets are from an amazing small shop we’ve used before called Say Like Yay. This outfit would be great for any of your days on the cruise, and I am sure Donald would love the attention!

Nemo Outfit for Animator’s Palette on a Disney Cruise

One of our favorite dining experiences on board is Animator’s Palette. From the minute you walk into this restaurant, you are immersed in the magic of Disney animation. If you’ve dined here on the Disney Wonder or Fantasy, it’s a little bit different.

Finding Nemo–inspired outfit for Animator’s Palette on a Disney cruise, featuring an orange dress, Nemo Minnie ears, fish-themed jewelry, black heels, striped bow accessory, and blue crossbody bag styled for Disney Cruise Line dining.

One the Disney Dream, it is still themed around Disney’s incredible animation, but Disney took it to the next level by theming it around Finding Nemo. While you dine, Crush will swim to your table and talk to you!

Tashy wearing an orange Finding Nemo–inspired dress with fish-themed Minnie ears, striped bow belt, black heels, and Disney cruise accessories, posing in a circular porthole window onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship, styled for Animator’s Palette dining.

Tashy wanted to create a look that was special to this theme, so she assembled a Nemo look especially for this night. However, I think this look is so cute, you could wear it all day! Just swap the heels for some flats, and you’re ready to walk the ship in style.

Beauty and the Beast Outfit for a Disney Cruise

On select nights of your cruise, you will be treated to a Broadway style show based on a Disney movie. The Disney Dream is currently performing Beauty and the Beast, and part of the fun of seeing a show is getting dressed up!

Yellow Beauty and the Beast–inspired outfit for a Disney Dream cruise, featuring a flowy yellow dress, red and blue hair bows, rose earrings, Belle-themed jewelry, tan sandals, and a red rose clutch styled for Disney Cruise Line formal night.

The ears are a great accessory to wear outside of the theatre for photos, but please remember to take them off during the show. This helps anyone sitting behind you to see as much as possible of the performance. We styled this outfit for your night at the theatre, but the dress is comfortable enough to wear throughout your day. In fact, if you swap out the accessories, this dress would also look great if you’re stopping by Lookout Cay!

Pirate Night Outfit for a Disney Cruise

If you’ve booked a Disney Cruise, you’ve probably heard of a little event called Pirate Night. Pirate Night is where everyone dresses up in their best pirate attire, and the entire day is filled with special themed activities, food, and characters. We have an entire blog dedicated to this evening if you want to read more about it

Pirate Night outfit for a Disney cruise featuring a yellow and green layered dress, corset-style bodice, brown pirate hat, knee-high boots, leather crossbody bag, gold bangles, and green scarf, styled for Disney Cruise Line Pirate Night.

Most people dress in red, black and white for this evening, but Tashy took it to another level. Inspired by a pin, Tashy created a pirate look based on her favorite Disney princess, Princess Tiana. This is a perfect example where passion meets creativity, and we are obsessed.

We hope you found a little inspiration from these outfits. A Disney cruise is such an amazing vacation, and no matter what you wear, you’re going to have a great time! And remember, theme park (or cruise) fashion doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile.
